Use This Routine to Improve Shoulder Mobility

Shoulders are the most mobile joints in the body yet people commonly present with mobility limitations in the shoulders due to lack of use, weakness, over-compensation, and repeated muscle fatigue.  The difficult thing about shoulder mobility is that most people don’t notice they are limited with the shoulder motions until they can’t perform a specific activity or start to notice discomfort in the shoulder.  We depend on our shoulders for any activity that involves our hands.  Keeping the shoulders mobile is part of keeping the shoulders healthy.

This shoulder mobility routine can be used to help gain and maintain shoulder mobility.  This routine is designed to help with the shoulder mobility and is not intended to treat shoulder pain.  Work on a gradual progression into the shoulder motions.  Improving the shoulder mobility combined with improving scapular and shoulder strength can help keep your shoulders healthy and keep you participating in the activities you like longer while decreasing the likelihood for injury.
