I Often Have People Ask Me...

What Is A Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Golf Assessment And Why Do I Need One?

That is a great question... Here is my answer.

The golf swing is a coordinated and balanced motion that is unique to each person.  We often watch golfers and try to mimic our golf swings to look like theirs.  What we fail to realize is that they spent hours working on mobility, strength, balance, and technique to achieve the ability to swing the golf club the way they do.  How often do you hear a golf announcer or coach talk about how flexible a golfer is and how that allows them to stay balanced at the different positions of the golf swing?  They can because they have the ability to move that way.  You can improve your golf swing, but first you have to understand and improve your body. Your Body. Your Swing.

That is a good question. Let me tell you why.  The golf swing is a coordinated and balanced motion that is independent to each person. Your Body. Your Swing.

A TPI golf screen with a swing analysis helps you understand how your body moves in relation to the golf swing. It helps you find areas where you are doing well and it helps you understand areas that you are limited or dsyfunctional.  Imagine trying to hit a golf ball with a club that has a 15 degree bend in the shaft.  It would make for a inconsistent, challenging, and dysfunctional golf swing.  Sure you can try and adapt, but playing with a club with a straight shaft would be a lot easier and decrease the chances for causing problems.  The best way for you to swing a golf club is based on what you are physically able to do, but a dysfunctional body is a bent shaft so lets straighten you out.

The results of the TPI screen can then be used to create a unique plan for you to improve areas where you are limited.  This means that with the TPI screen and a body assessment you get the most individualized and unique program that will help you get back to more pain free golf. It all starts with a TPI assessment.
